I work with young people

We offer offer highly personalised creative and therapeutic education placements for young people in and around Thanet.

We specialise in working with young people experiencing complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), often with a comorbidity of developmental diagnosis (eg ADHD, ASD) who are not suited to traditional schooling.

Working closely with the young person, parents or carers, the named school and professional networks, we develop bespoke objectives and support their individual learning strengths, building on their interests to foster a love for learning.

Our approach

Our approach is grounded in trust, stability, and slowing down - creating space for young people to find their own pace and pathway, rather than fitting into rigid timelines or institutional targets.

How our referral process works

  • Fill out our referral form

This is so we can get to know a bit about the person you are referring. Once we receive the referral we will respond in 7 days.

  • Visit the space

We will then be in touch to arrange a visit to our space to see if the young person feels happy here, and to answer any questions you, the young person or their family may have.

  • Try a taster session

When we have a suitable space on our creative programme they will be invited for a trial session. If they are happy we can then continue weekly from there in the term time.

Frequently asked questions

  • No, all our sessions are led by the young person’s interests and to allow for freedom of expression we don’t follow a set curriculum from an exam board.

  • It depends on the availability of our Creative Practitioners, but most young people attend once a week and in some cases twice.

  • No

  • For some sessions we have a waiting list, on average a placement can take between 4 - 8 weeks to start. When we are experiencing a high level of new referrals priority is given to those with the greatest need.
